Director Shirley Serotsky became a company member in Season 6 and made her Catalyst debut directing the East Coast premiere of We Are Not These Hands. This fall she directed Shawn Northrip’s new musical Lunch at the New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF), following its presentation at the inaugural CapFringe Festival in Washington, DC. In spring of 2006 she directed Lee Blessing’s Two Rooms for Theater Alliance and the world premiere of Rolin Jones’ ten-minute play Sovereignty at the 30th Humana Festival of New Plays at The Actor’s Theater of Louisville. Other directing credits include: Steel Magnolias (The Ice House, Berkeley Springs, WV), Upshot (forum theater and dance), Titus! The Musical (Source Theatre), Cautionary Tales for Adults, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and Bus to Buenos Aires (Madcap Players), A Chat with Ms. Chicky and Just Sex (Jazz Hands) (Venus Theatre), The Many Adventures of Trixie Tickles, Lunch and McBeth's McTragic McMusical (Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival), Will You Please Shut Up?, Betrayed by Everyone, Drive Angry and Labor Day (Kennedy Center Kenan Artists), We're 'Mericans (Kennedy Center Millennium Stage), and Pieces of Life (YPT), The Winter’s Tale (Sonnet Repertory), The Superfriends of Flushing, Queens (Columbia University), Starlet for Sale (Expanded Arts), The Blind, and A Teenager's Guide to the Universe (The Looking Glass Theater). Training: BFA, North Carolina School of the Arts. Member of The 2002 Designer/Director Workshop with Ming Cho Lee and the 2003 Lincoln Center Director's Lab. Shirley was a 2001/2002 Kennedy Center Kenan Fellow. She is an Associate member of SSDC.
